Cops and Robbers was first published early in 1999, as a way of bringing together and promoting the work of various people involved in DIY and underground music in Leeds.
We’ve compiled an archive of past C&Rs for your perusal.
Each booklet lists gigs and events for the next month, with some writing that differs from the website and lovely pictures drawn by a variety of local artists and ne’er-do-wells; resulting in a handy and attractive pocket publication, perfect for when the internet just won’t cut it.
After a short haitus, C&R was revised and revived in May 2008 by a slightly different crew, and with a slightly different agenda. We now ask a different artist to illustrate each monthly issue, which provides a link between the art and music DIY communities in Leeds – something that was previously difficult to achieve.
To get your gig in C&R, please follow the instructions on the Add a Gig page, making sure you submit all the info before the 20th of the previous month.
Cops and Robbers is printed by Footprinters Co-op and can normally be found in Jumbo, Crash, the Brudenell Social Club, Borders, Relics, OK Comics, Leeds City Library and gigs throughout the month.
C&R are grateful to those people who continue to submit gigs to us, distribute the booklet and generally support what we do.
