Cops and Robbers was first published early in 1999, as a way of bringing together and promoting the work of various people involved in DIY and underground music in Leeds.
Each booklet lists gigs and events for the next month, with some writing that differs from the website and lovely pictures drawn by a variety of local artists and ne’er-do-wells; resulting in a handy and attractive pocket publication, perfect for when the internet just won’t cut it.
Cops and Robbers is printed by Footprinters Co-op and can normally be found in Jumbo, Crash, the Brudenell Social Club, Borders, Relics, the city library and Peach and Pear Cafe. We also distribute to gigs throughout the month.
C&R are grateful to those people who continue to submit gigs to us, distribute the booklet and generally support what we do.
We are currently compiling a comprehensive archive of C&R back-issues, listing gigs as far back as January 1999. See the work-in-progress via this link.
