    Hi there,

You may have heard around that OK Comics are in a bit of trouble at the moment. Scaffolding has put their business in dire trouble, well to me that isn't trouble just for them, it is trouble for me too! OK Comics is the only independent comic book shop in Leeds and provides me with hours of entertainment and brilliant costume ideas.

I understand all the DIY, supporting a business ethics etc which may come through about this but I feel that I am trying to do something that I believe in, mix comics and music! You can find more information about OK Comics and the struggle they are encountering here: Guardian Article

So, in honour of this OK Comics and The Smitten Bunny present....

Scott Pilgrim's Battle of the Band!

    Featuring:

    COWTOWN
    HARRY CALLAHAN
The super exciting launch of book 6 of Scott Pilgrim, awesome!

    COWTOWN

Watching COWTOWN feels like you have just entered a world where everything is colourful geometric shapes. COWTOWN bring super poppy pop music to your ears with sweet hooks and carbonated keyboards.

    HARRY CALLAHAN

Super fast female fronted hardcore punk, HARRY CALLAHAN get through 12 songs in 20 minutes, blink and you'll miss them, watch and you'll faint!

Get ready to dance in a comic shop, watch COWTOWN battle their evil ex boyfriend HARRY CALLAHAN in a mad wall of sound!

It will be free and on Friday the 20th of August at 7PM.

Do we get to vote on who wins the Battle of the Band? It's like some sort of one-party state system. I like your style.

I dont want to get anyone's hopes up, but we might be playing this too. That's what I heard. This information may be false. I know nothing.

    Hi there,

I was super looking forward to this, thought there could be nothing better than playing in a comic book shop but well, the council disagree so it ain't happening.

Jared and I are rather sad about this, apologies to anyone else who was also looking forward to it.

Would it be easier if it was an acoustic rather than electric gig? In Brighton we seemed to have less issues when that was the case? If that was possible and you needed a hand in future I'm moving to Leeds next week and have been putting on gigs for ten years so would be up for helping.

Cheers Toby! I'm gonna have a think about what I can do next and just do something easier at a venue I think. Acoustic isn't my kinda thing so might leave that idea.

Ooer, where ya moving in Leeds then? Fun times!
