Release Yourself is an intimate dance party held three times a year at the co-operative arts venue Wharf Chambers, on Wharf Street in the heart of Leeds city centre.
Each party features a live act and previous guests have included Galaxians, Shift Work, Unmade Bed, Game_Program, and more.
In-house record spinners Matt Woodward (Galaxians // Azores // Stargaze Records), Pat McCusker, and Henry Hobson are joined by guest DJs. Past guests have included Manchester’s Disco Mums collective, Liverpool’s Chew Disco DJs, and Leeds’ own Lucy Locket.
We create an inviting and welcoming space – balloons, fabric drapes, projections, and warm lighting all play a part in making the dancers feel as comfortable as possible.
We operate a safe space policy at our events and everyone is welcome. Bring your best dancing game and leave prejudices at the door. Get your backs off the wall and let’s go dancing!
In order to attend licensed events (music, film etc) or use the bar at Wharf Chambers you need to be a member of the club. To join visit: www.wharfchambers.org/join. Membership takes 48hrs to take affect. Cards will be issued in person at the venue. Any other queries to members[at]wharfchambers.org
