Early Hominids, Inca Eyeball, The Piss Superstition, Herb Diamante

4th March 2016herb
Wharf Chambers

Herb Diamante – The best Eurovision winner we never had. Melodramatic torch songs infused with music, martinis and pataphysics. If he’d ever had the chance to hear him croon, Frank Booth would have taken Herb over Roy Orbison any day of the week.

The Piss Superstition – intricate electronic calligraphy produced by malfunctioning effects units, tapes and guitar. fuzztone and feedback patterns pulsate, intersect, and mix drone electronics, garage psych and a lumbering dose of doom metal. Imagine The Dead C eviscerating the instrumental bits off the first Roxy Music album and you’re halfway there.

Inca Eyeball – “The worst record ever made.” – Richard Youngs, in reference to Inca’s “I’ve Just Come From Off The Boat” 7″. “Why this?” – Paola Sorrentino.

Early Hominids – Mirfield’s finest, indeed only psychodelic electronics act. “Early warning systems are sounded, things buzz, fart, rasp, detonate and pulse in many and wild a manner”

+ DJD spinning things right round on the decks
