drei – three ladies from brighton who create subversive moods and atmospheres that grow and mutate with every performance. kirsten elliott (flutes, vocals, melodica, electronics) challenges audiences’ preconceptions of the flute’s role in music, running her flute and vocals through guitar pedals to create a wide spectrum of sounds. bela emerson (electric cello, vocals, electronics) has worked on jazz, folk, rock, and avant-garde projects since 1994 in bands, duos, as a solo artiste, and as a session musician. susanne lambert (drums, percussion) is a multi-instrumentalist who has been performing and recording since 1993 in off-kilter pop, trip-hop, contemporary indie, and post-rock projects ( www.myspace.com/dreiladies )
