March 19th Uzak @ Bradford Playhouse
The first ever Uzak will be a meeting of different styles. First up are Lou Diamond Philips, Bradford’s premier purevyors of art-rock. Followed by the noise-rock of Dolphins (www.myspace.com/dolphinsband) and the hardcore excellence of Mob Rules. Our headliners are arguably the best hardcore band in the UK at the moment and follow in the footsteps of Voorhees, with an uncompromising style and throat-grabbing live show.
If you don’t believe us check out their interview with Vice magazine (vice.typepad.com/vice_magazine/2008/12/london—mob-ru.html), this (www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2009/nov/30/scene-and-heard-hardcore-leeds)piece by the Guardian or just watch this (www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxRLYm9uVZs) live video recorded at our very own 1in12.
Djs will play in between bands and after. Expect the likes of Battles, Chrome Hoof, Nice Nice, King Sunny Ade, Selda, Dam Funk, Rustie and Squarepusher to rub up alongside Charles Mingus, Clipse, Tiga, Holy Ghost, Can, Black Flag, Wu-Tang and Bad Brains – bascially this ain’t an indie disco, so get your dancing shoes and dancing moves ready.
Visuals will be provided by the bands and Mr Jack King…expect more from the UZAK camp very soon.
