Hibernate present:

Friday February 19th 2010 @ Hole In t’ Wall, Hangingroyd lane, Hebden Bridge

8.00pm, free entry.

I CONCUR [www.myspace.com/iconcurband]

I Concur formed in Leeds at the tail end of 2006 thanks to a shared love of American indie, slowcore and post rock – bands such as The National, Low, Wilco and Mogwai. Comprised of Tim Hann (vocals/guitar), James Brunger (drums/vocals), Toby Page (bass) and Chris Woolford (guitar), the band’s first practices created a set of songs based on Hann’s abstract style of story telling. Tracks such as “Decimal Places”, written about the mistakes of the South Korean stem cell scientist Woo Sung Hwak, and “Exits Are Blockades”, which focused on the extinction of the prehistoric crocodile, came out of these initial song writing sessions.

HIDDEN BEK

Former members of Hebden Bridge hereos Widykeff and Cool Piano Roll merge to create a slowcore inspired sonic paradise, where reverbed melodies effortlessly melt away into the ether.

METONYM [www.myspace.com/metonym]

Metonym are a refreshing pair of youngsters who take a less-travelled approach to the whole folk-pop thing, with acoustic guitars or pianos and soft voices drowning in a sea of noisy drones, hazy synths, glocks, horns, field recordings and whatever else they can get their hands on.
